It was a full house for the launch of Kent Excellence in Business Awards 2010 last night . Over 120 people turned out despite the cold conditions.

The event, which took place at Bradbourne House in East Malling, formally announced the second year of awards that businesses can enter to be recognised as the very best in Kent.

Graham Webb MBE , the Chairman of the Judges hosted the event and told the businesses attending why they should enter. He said that this is a good opportunity to celebrate their business with their staff, help with marketing and get more business.

The awards culminate with a glittering event in July, and it was announced that the KEiBA 2010 gala awards presentation will take place at The Historic Dockyard , Chatham

Kevin Lynes, KCC Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development said:

“These awards are important. The tough times started before KEiBA were launched but there were over 500 people at the awards ceremony last July. This shouts out loud and clear that Kent is open for business.

“I would like to encourage businesses in Kent to take part and celebrate their success and pass it on. It is worth the effort, not only does it promote your business, but the judging process also acts as a useful free peer review and health check. So get online and enter.

Geraldine Allinson, Chairman of the KM Group, said:

“KEiBA , in its inaugural year, quickly established itself as the premium accolade that businesses in Kent and Medway should aspire to achieve. I hope that the winners and finalists from 2009 have already reaped many benefits from the recognition they received from the awards

”I would urge all of you to enter this year - awards are one of the most powerful and cost-effective marketing tools and winning a prestigious KEiBA will help your organisation to stand out from the crowd, boost staff morale, send a positive message to your existing customers and attract new ones.

The awards scheme is staged and produced by Kent County Council and the KM Group and aims to recognise excellence in business across Kent and Medway.
