EMC comprises a board-level team of 20 individuals with commercial experience across a wide range of sectors and disciplines.
We are typically engaged by business owners to take responsibility for one-off projects or to fulfil management roles where there is no in-house resource or need for a full-time, permanent position. We mainly work with ambitious growing businesses and, since 1989, have helped many owner/directors to plan and execute a successful exit, creating a number of millionaires en route.
In contrast with the professionally nervous managers in big businesses sitting on cash, our risk takers are the people with the drive and vision to return the UK economy to health. Whilst the driven entrepreneur never goes into business to win Awards, it is essential that their individual and collective efforts are properly recognised.

Brachers has been advising Kent rural businesses for 115 years and is proud to co-sponsor this award with Hadlow College. We are delighted to use this opportunity to highlight those successful Kent land based businesses who have found innovative ways to overcome the 21st century challenges - from climate change to CAP reform, from ever-increasing red-tape to the recession itself.

The IoD is a non party-political business organisation founded by Royal Charter in 1903, currently with around 55,000 members. The IoD has always championed the entrepreneur and seeks to provide an environment conducive to business success. For any company to prosper, directors will be continually engaged in making decisions involving innovation, risk and investment. Entrepreneurial activity needs to take place within a solid, strategic framework.
Informed decisions depend upon knowledge and experience. The IoD has always been dedicated to providing directors with the information and advice they require to help their business succeed. Over the last 5 years, membership has grown by over 11,000 members and includes directors from many sectors of the economy - from media to manufacturing, e-business to public sector. Members include CEOs of large corporations as well as entrepreneurial directors of start-up companies. They are represented in 92% of FTSE 100 companies, whilst 70% of our members are directors of small and mid-sized enterprises. We are supporting these awards as they are open to all not just IoD Members. There is a natural fit with the IoD which exists to encourage and develop higher standards of leadership in business.
Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of a successful economy. The best are extraordinary leaders and wealth creators and an inspiration to others. Kent is a unique county with an extraordinary profile of businesses and with a rich tradition of entrepreneurs, the best of which will finally be acknowledged in these awards. Winning awards is always good for building value and profile in your business, but the process of entering and judging is just as valuable. There is little to lose and much to gain.

Kent Foundation for young entrepreneurs is a Kent based charity which exists to help young people start up in business.
The Kent Foundation team work with enterprising young people throughout the County; ensuring the support needed to start and grow a successful business is available to young entrepreneurs.
We champion the enthusiasm and creativity of Kent’s enterprising young people. We are absolutely thrilled to sponsor the Young Entrepreneur Award.
Celebrating young entrepreneurs inspires others to believe “the Fourth Option – being an entrepreneur” can be a great career choice.
Young business people deserve to be seen as the stars they really are! Every day I am inspired by the young people I meet who are interested in business. The stories they tell of how they started and what they have achieved deserves greater recognition. As a charity, we can only offer to help young people because of the support we receive from others. This is an exciting opportunity to acknowledge what is being achieved by Kent for Kent in Kent. Congratulations to every young person who is supporting Kent's economic development.
